The Grand on Longtail

Our overall stay was enjoyable, and if I could give more than 5 stars for communication, I absolutely would. Melissa and Tyler were wonderful hosts and always responded quickly and kindly to any questions or concerns we had. That said, I do feel that for the amount we paid for this property, there were several issues that should be addressed. I'm someone who reads reviews carefully before booking. I wanted to share our experience so future guests can make an informed decision. We stayed here for a family vacation. Our daughter walks with a cane, and our parents are older, so accessibility was important to us. We had planned to use the elevator, but unfortunately, we found out upon arrival that it was out of service. Several of the beds are also quite high, which could be difficult for some guests. In addition, the living room has a few steps down without handrails, something worth noting for anyone with mobility concerns. There were also several maintenance issues during our stay. The microwave wasn't working, the outdoor shower was broken, and the gas fireplace was in rough shape. The beach area where the kayaks launch was also filled with logs and debris. I understand that storms and changing water levels can wash things ashore, but it appeared that the area hadn't been cleared for quite some time. My intention isn't to discourage anyone from booking, but simply to share the details that I personally would want to know especially traveling with anyone with mobility issues.

The house was beautiful. Had some normal wear and tare that’s expected for rentals. But had all the indoor and outdoor supplies needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We had a little issues with bathroom, only 3 showers for 14 people was a small issue but we got it all worked out. The host was very prompt responding to any questions we may have had. A severe storm came through 1 day causing power outage. Once Melissa was notified she went above and beyond to make sure our issues wore met to the best of her ability. Even though the issue was out of her control. Giving several suggestions for places to eat. Even offered to set us up in another house until issues resolved because of the heat. But we actually were ok with temperatures in the house. She got us flashlights delivered in case power was out late. She came first thing the next morning with her landscaper cleaning the pool and cleaning up all the branches and debris in the yard. Thank you Melissa for helping our family time a memory in the books.

We had an awesome visit! This property has lots of activities to entertain your group for the entire stay. We enjoyed the fire pits, paddle boards, sauna, lazy river pool, hot tub, yard space (we brought our own yard games), pool table, movie theater room! Kitchen was great for cooking and serving. Overall bedrooms were accommodating but definitely depends on your group. We had 6 adult couples so the trundle bed with adjoining bedroom was not ideal for our group but for a family with kids, it would be great. The amenities definitely over road the bedroom situation. The house is very spacious and as a previous review stated, it has a WOW factor. We had the most amazing time! Highly recommend this property!

Yes, amenities were good overall

Hot tub didn’t heat till next day. Also master shower has knob broken and couldn’t adjust temperature for water. Otherwise everything was great!
